Organ and Violin Concert
May 2019
An outstanding concert
was held on Sunday 12 May 2019 at 6:00 PM in St. Michael's Church.
JLSS dear friend, Klaus Schulten, played the organ. He was accompanied by
the violinist Dorothee Mühleisen.
Dorothee is an excellent violinist. Her performance on her old violin
with Klaus on the JLSS organ made music that penetrated the soul. Dorothee’s violin,
which is 239 years old, was an amazing match to the JLSS pipe organ.
The concert was very enjoyable.
The choice of music was most suitable for the JLSS audience.
Background information about the music, as prepared by Klaus, was
presented before each part.
This information was very helpful for the audience to follow the music
and enjoy it.
The program was as follows:
I
Heinrich Ignaz Biber
Sonata in D
Announcement of the birth of Christ
II
Arcangelo Corelli La Follia
Variations for Violin and Organ
Allessandro Scarlatti La Follia
